Interchange - September 2022

Below is a link to a really interesting article from McKinsey on attracting people to work in your organization.  In it they treat the attraction of employees like a private sector company who are designing a marketing and sales strategy to attract customer.  This, is a very productive, and I think necessary, point of view for the foreseeable future.

The article lays out the need to create an “Employee Value Proposition” and to customize your marketing and sales efforts to cater to that proposition.  It also lays out 5 separate employee personas with different priorities:

  1. The Traditionalist

  2. Do-it-yourselfers

  3. Idealists

  4. Caregivers and others

  5. The Relaxers

Please come prepared to discuss these three questions:

  1. What is the value that you are committed to providing your employees, your value proposition?

  2. What can you do to ensure that you are delivering that value to your employees?

  3. How might you use these ideas of personas to build out a marketing and sales strategy aimed at workforce?
